Antonio Merrick 2026 Nationwide Endorsements List

In 2024, I made one of the most consequential decisions of my political life. I resigned from my leadership positions within the Georgia Republican Party and publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for President.

I did not do so in protest of the Republican Party. I did not abandon conservative principles or the values that had shaped much of my political life. My decision was a protest against Donald Trump and what I believed his character, conduct, and leadership represented. Simply put, I could not support a man I would not feel comfortable leaving alone in a room with my own daughters.

That decision came at an enormous personal cost. In the period that followed, I lost nearly everything that mattered to me. I lost my children, I believe my civil rights were violated, and circumstances surrounding my life and health brought me frighteningly close to losing my life.

But those experiences did not convince me to abandon public service. They reinforced something I have come to believe even more strongly: our country must come before the party.

So, in 2026, as I watch the continued influence of MAGA politics and the direction in which I believe it is taking our country, I am again choosing principle over party.

The candidates below are my official endorsements for the 2026 midterm elections.

This is not a Democratic endorsement list. I remain willing to support Republicans, Democrats, independents, or anyone else whom I believe is prepared to serve the American people rather than a political personality or movement.

We will not agree on everything. I do not expect that. What matters to me is whether someone can govern, respect our constitutional system, work with Americans who disagree with them, protect individual rights, serve people who did not vote for them, and put the interests of the United States ahead of partisan loyalty.

We must put country before party, at all times. Some people will look at this list and immediately notice the number of Democrats I have endorsed. They may question how someone with my Republican background can support so many candidates from another party.

My answer is simple: I refuse to allow a party label to make my decisions for me.

I have spent years in Republican politics. I know what I believe, and I do not need Donald Trump, MAGA, the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or anyone else to tell me whom I am permitted to support.

I am looking for Americans who are capable of working with other Americans.

Our country does not need another generation of leaders whose primary objective is defeating the other half of the country. We need leaders capable of recognizing that the people who vote Republican, Democratic, independent, or not at all are still Americans, and once an election is over, they all deserve representation.

I do not endorse these candidates because I agree with every position they hold. I endorse them because I believe America desperately needs to move away from personality-driven politics and return to the much harder work of governing a nation of more than 300 million people who will never agree on everything.

That is not a weakness. That is America.
